Kristie Hedrick

A Western North Carolina native, Kristie’s passion for the legal profession began in Catawba County where she worked for a family friend’s law firm in Hickory, an attorney she admired from childhood. After practicing in Raleigh for over 16 years, she returned home to open Hedrick Gardner’s Asheville office in 2019.

Kristie’s civil litigation practice focuses in the areas of motor vehicle negligence; trucking and transportation; wrongful death; premises liability; retail, restaurant and hospitality; construction litigation; and general tort liability matters. She has defended cases to verdict in jury trials as well as arbitration forums in various venues across the state. Recognized in the legal community as an attorney who is dedicated to her clients, Kristie takes pride in the quality of legal services she provides. She maintains a passion for developing her clients’ cases while taking as much time as necessary to explain complex matters in a way that is understandable while helping clients work through the stress that litigation can bring.

Throughout her career, Kristie has remained devoted to the development of future trial lawyers, both those within the firm and those involved with local mock trial competitions. As leader of the Asheville office, she has gained tremendous satisfaction and growth from guiding her team through a pandemic, civil unrest, and two major hurricanes that impacted WNC, including Hurricane Helene. She believes that strong leadership means supporting your team through both professional challenges and personal crises.

After putting down roots in Asheville and purchasing a 1925 bungalow, Kristie embarked on a renovation project in 2025 that both restored the original character of the home while also updating the cottage in a manner respectful to the 1920s. When she is not working, you will find Kristie spending time with and helping her family; enjoying the many local restaurants, bakeries, and tailgate markets; searching for antique treasures; getting her hands dirty in her flower gardens; attempting to live out her faith; and enjoying the beauty that abounds in the mountains of WNC.
