Matt R. Lancaster

Special Counsel

Matt Lancaster’s practice focuses primarily on defending construction-defect and property damage claims. He strives to relieve the burden clients feel when faced with a lawsuit. Many of Matt’s clients are family or employee-owned construction companies, which makes it that much more rewarding to help these business owners preserve their livelihoods for themselves, their employees, and their families. Even when representing larger companies, Matt remains acutely aware of the jobs at stake if a company’s financial stability becomes jeopardized by litigation. He maintains a solution-focused approach throughout his cases, always seeking to identify the best path toward resolution.

Before joining Hedrick Gardner, Matt earned his MBA during law school and worked as an associate at a boutique Raleigh firm where he focused primarily on defending design professionals.

Matt’s commitment to service began with his time in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman after graduating high school, where he developed a heart for serving and defending others. Following his military service, while attending college, Matt owned and operated small businesses for several years. This experience provides him with valuable insight that allows him to better understand his clients’ needs and guide them from both legal and business perspectives.

When not practicing law or training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Matt is actively involved in his church community.
