Biography

Based in our Raleigh office, Asia Skyers is a valued member of our civil litigation team at the firm. Asia earned her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2023, where she demonstrated her exceptional advocacy skills by winning the Best Advocate award in the semi-final round of the 1L Kilpatrick Townsend Mock Trial Competition. She also holds a Master of Information Science (MIS) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from North Carolina Central University, showcasing her strong academic achievements. Prior to this, she earned her B.A. in Political Science from Quinnipiac University.

During her legal education, Asia gained diverse experience through internships at Orange and Durham County’s Public Defenders Offices, where she assisted attorneys in high-stakes criminal matters. She also acquired private practice experience as a summer clerk at a Raleigh firm, focusing on personal injury cases for plaintiffs.

Asia gained valuable experience in North Carolina State government through roles as a legislative intern for Senator Dan Blue and as the Volunteerism and Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Governor Roy Cooper. These opportunities provided her with a strong foundation in governmental processes and community engagement, enriching her perspective and contributing to her skills in civil litigation practice.

Asia is actively involved in professional organizations such as the North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. Committed to community service, she volunteers with Capital Area Teen Court.

Beyond her legal career, Asia enjoys spending time with family, exploring new countries, and watching true crime documentaries. She loves Caribbean vacations, and as a Northerner, appreciates the warm North Carolina climate. Her personal experiences and diverse background enrich her approach to legal advocacy.
