Hedrick Gardner has counseled businesses of all sizes, as well as their carriers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters in both North and South Carolina for 70 years. We take great pride in our strong reputation and long history of aggressively and efficiently defending employers before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission, and both North and South Carolina’s Courts of Appeals and Supreme Courts. 

We represent many of the nation’s largest employers operating in the Carolinas, as well as numerous small and medium-sized local and regional businesses. We provide counsel to our clients addressing every aspect of the workers’ compensation process, including assisting in claims-handling decisions regarding acceptance or denial of a claim, navigating state-specific discovery procedures, representing our clients at mediation and hearings, and formalizing/drafting compromise settlement agreements (“clinchers”) and global settlement/general release agreements. When necessary, our experienced Appellate Advocacy Practice Group and Medicare Compliance Practice Group provide consultation and expertise when litigation moves to the appellate level or resolution requires adherence with CMS or SSA guidelines. 

Beyond counseling and defending our clients in workers’ comp claims, Hedrick Gardner’s attorneys actively work with our clients to provide claims handling continuing education seminars and training on best practices and current workers’ compensation issues and topics.
