Biography

Kari Swindle understands that successful representation of clients, whether it be prior to or through active litigation, begins by thoroughly reviewing all issues presented, developing a plan of action, and acting on that plan to achieve the best possible results. Kari’s experience handling matters both pre-suit and in litigation has equipped her with the knowledge to assess her client’s legal needs and actively work to address them. Kari has represented her clients through all phases of litigation in multiple counties in North Carolina.

Kari Swindle’s work at Hedrick Gardner includes several aspects of insurance defense, including professional liability, premises liability, product liability, and commercial litigation. In the area of professional liability, a significant portion of Kari’s practice consists of medical malpractice defense, including defending dental professionals, long-term care facilities, and other medical professionals through all phases of litigation and in licensing board complaints.

Prior to joining Hedrick Gardner, Kari practiced general liability and medical malpractice for a year and a half in Colorado, before moving home and settling in Charlotte, where she grew up. Kari feels that having lived the majority of her life in North Carolina, she has the advantage of being familiar with the communities where her clients live and conduct their business, allowing her to have a deep understanding of any extenuating issues that will be at the forefront of a jury’s considerations.

Outside of work, Kari pours her time and energy into her young family and does her best to keep up with her toddler. Kari is a big college football and basketball fan and is married to an even bigger one. When not cheering for one of her favorite teams, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, skiing, working out at Orangetheory, and vacationing at the beach.
