Strategy and creativity are what attracted Sara Brakmann to practice law in the area of civil litigation. For the Charlotte office associate, Sara enjoys collaborating with clients to find innovative and tailored solutions to complex legal matters. She leans on her ability to make human connections to drive better outcomes for both her client and the firm.

Sara has experience representing individual and corporate clients in federal and state courts in connection with a variety of litigation matters, including premises liability, breach of contract and restrictive covenants, defamation law, and other disputes. Before joining the Charlotte office, Sara practiced law in the area of civil litigation in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to entering private practice, Sara spent her time in law school focused on serving the legal needs of her community. While in law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, she was a Student Attorney representing indigent families in family court and advocating for student rights in special education meetings with school districts. In addition, she served as a Law Clerk for the South Carolina Department of Education where she gained experience in administrative and education law. Sara also served as the Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Law and Education.

When not in court or the office, Sara can be found spending time with her family and friends, supporting local arts, cheering on her alma maters’ sports teams, or playing tennis. Sara also continues her passion for serving her local community through involvement with local community organizations such as the Junior League of Charlotte.
