Brooks is the child of two attorneys and is excitedly following in their footsteps.
She demonstrated the ability to work well under pressure and handle whatever comes her way even before her law career began. “I took the July 2012 exam which is (in)famous for a storm-related power outage the first day,” she said, “I completed the essays that afternoon in the dark, with a dying laptop battery.”
While in law school at UNC, Brooks completed over 75 hours of pro bono work and was awarded membership to the Order of Barristers for her work on the Holderness Moot Court.
Today, Brooks is putting her legal talents to work on Hedrick Gardner’s civil litigation team. Before joining the firm, she practiced with another area firm for over four years.
A native Charlottean, Brooks has lived her entire life in North Carolina except for two summers during college. While not practicing law, she enjoys spending time outside with her husband, two sons, and dog. She is a Tar Heel athletics fan and was a freshman at UNC when the basketball team won the 2005 National Championship.
