Biography

Growing up, Shanai Green was labeled “outspoken,” and was often forewarned that her outspoken demeanor might lead to trouble. Instead of taking offense, Shanai has skillfully harnessed this distinctive trait, and today, she uses her voice to help others as an attorney. Her knack for solving tough problems, quick thinking in the courtroom, and, of course, that outspokenness, make her a key player in assisting the firm’s clients in getting the justice they deserve.

Shanai embarked on her journey to fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer at Winthrop University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Pre-Law concentration. Alongside her academic achievements, she earned a place on both the President’s List and the Dean’s List. At Winthrop, she served as Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta, an International Law Fraternity.

Continuing her educational pursuit, Shanai enrolled at North Carolina Central University School of Law, attaining her J.D. with cum laude honors and once again securing a spot on the Dean’s List. During her time in law school, she actively participated as a member of the Trial Advocacy Board, assuming the role of secretary in her second and third years. Her legal acumen was further demonstrated through participation in numerous Mock Trial Competitions, including the 1L Kilpatrick Mock Trial hosted by UNC Law. Shanai showcased her skills in opening and closing statement competitions, consistently earning a place within the Top 5 in each event. In addition to her academic and advocacy pursuits, Shanai was an active member of the American Association for Justice, successfully competing in the Student Trial Advocacy Competition. If this was not enough, Shanai also completed several legal internships during her law school years. It’s no surprise that Shanai’s proudest moment was when she found out that she passed the bar and was licensed to practice law.

When not advocating on behalf of clients, Shanai enjoys traveling, spending time with my family and friends, shopping, and binge-watching Netflix. This self-proclaimed “Carolina Girl” is also a lover of all things Beyoncé, and is a proud dog mom to Carter, her Morkie, and can be found rooting on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Finally, when vacation time calls, her answer is Aruba.
